Welcome to these pages that document the process of the current Comprehensive Land Use Plan for the Town of Plattsburgh. Our town goes through this exercise once every ten years so that we may construct an evolving blueprint for our town's evolution. Our committee members are appointed by the Plattsburgh Town Council to represent the various views held in our neighborhoods. We also tap into the talented town planning department and have commissioned the Chazen consultancy group to assist us in our efforts.

This sixteen month process includes planning and the conducting of our process to engage the public, an aggregation of plans based on what we gleaned from the public process, a second round of public meetings to discuss preliminary recommendations, and a series of recommendations we will make to the Town of Plattsburgh in the Spring of 2010. It is our hope that this process and these recommendations will sow the seeds for the careful growth of our Town, and will be adopted through zoning regulations and other planning procedures.

Our committee hopes you participate fully in this process and follow the progress documented on these pages. This is your town and our collective future. Every idea is important in this process.
